The son of
darkness is all grown up...
James is a Guardian. He is tasked with protecting the most
important person in his world. For eight years he has done his job without
complaint, but he has grown tired of living under the shadow of a father who is
responsible for the most unimaginable violence and destruction his world has
ever known.
Ainsley is at a loss for what to do with her life. She hates
her two dead end jobs and the family who betrayed her. She has resigned herself
to living one day at a time, but she longs for an escape from her lonely life.
When Ainsley finds James in her bed, their two lives and
worlds collide. They may have both found exactly what they need, but the
darkness James has been running from his whole life has just caught up.
My Review:
Forged in Ice, the followup book to Forged in Stone, has quickly become a top favorite book of mine for 2016. That's an easy statement to make when you are as enamored with the characters as I seem to be. James quickly became a dark hero who I couldn't seem to get enough of in Forged in Stone. In Forged in Ice I loved seeing the changes in James that I hadn't been able to see in it's entirity in Forged in Stone. James's character was softer in the sense that he showed more emotions espically towards Ainsley. Even Talon had picked up on the changes James's was displaying. Scoffing at the thought of how insanely in love he was and calling it out for it. I do want to see more of Talon in the next book (release date unkown), I'm hoping he will be eating his words on the audacity for one's ability to fall in love. I will say the Dire wolves were quite a shock for me, I was not expecting Hunter to be in the story line, nonetheless I was excited to see more character appearances from the Dire Wolves series by Alyssa.
Forged In Ice is hands down a FIVE star book read. I am anxious to see what books Alyssa brings us this year that leave us wanting more!
