When all that you love is left behind, you are lost…
Owen is devastated. He was willing to give up everything for Daisy, but she refused. He wants to believe there is a way to bring her back, even if it means getting help from the unlikeliest of sources.
Daisy is numb. She has lost any ability to feel human emotion. Her dreams are her only escape from her dull existence, and even those are fading.
Owen and Daisy are both lost, and only their love for each other will bring them back together.

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:
1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire's nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero
Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.
There's danger in the beauty...
Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.
But he did. And I was done waiting.
Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

Review: Legend by Katy Evans

My Rating: TOP FAV OF 2016

Title: Legend
Author: Katy Evans
Release Date: IT'S LIVE!!

Synopsis:
Maverick “the Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he's known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He's got a personal score to settle with the Underground's one and only Remington "Riptide" Tate.

As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town--and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she's none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who's supposed to root against him and a girl he's supposed to stay away from.

But Maverick fights for the woman in his heart, and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion; the ultimate LEGEND.

My Review:
Maverick AKA "the Avenger" was definitely a character I was not expecting from Katy Evans (explained later) . Let's start with Maverick's physical attributes:
1. He's HOT
2. He's DROP DEAD SEXY WITH ABS YOU JUST 'WANNA LICK ;)
3. His eyes were the color of cool steel
SO to sum it up I was bound to LOVE Katy Evan's new heart-stopping read no matter even if it did not have Tate (sigh) in it. Luckily, we were fortunate to have the power couple, Tate and Brooke, featured in this novel too.
Now for the "explained later" part, as I was saying, Legend was tamer in the violence aspect than Real and Remy (books 1 and 3 in the Real series). After re-reading Real, I was expecting arguments, yelling, maybe even a kidnapping to take place in Legend. Real was marked one of my most emotional reads of 2013, and I came to find Legend was not like that at all. What I loved most about Real was that it kept me on the edge of my seat, almost as if you blinked an entire dialogue much needed to the story, were to pass you. Legend may not have had the violence aspect to the same extreme as the first novel in the series, but it did have me falling quicker in love with Jackson than I did with Remy. Jackson and Reese had a relationship that best could be described as easy. I loved how quickly Jackson took to Reese. The connection between the two is undeniably strong, regardless of Reese's fighting for it not to be. Towards the end of the book we find out more of Reese's back story as to why she choose to stay with her cousin Brooke and Remy (OH and Racer!) I was in for a shock of all the things my mind came up with while reading the story it was not that which made the story line even more delightful.
The moments between Racer and Jackson had me swooning and awwwing. As well as Jackson's consistent chasing after Reese, I think I can say I've surrendered my heart once again to a fictional character.

Jackson's Trust- Violet Duke
New York Times bestselling author Violet Duke kicks off her sizzling-hot new Fourth Down series with a friends-to-lovers romance between a no-strings-attached sports analyst and the hottest damn tomboy he's ever met.

It's no secret that sports analyst Jackson Gray doesn't do relationships. What is a secret, however, is the reason why. Jackson's life is . . . complicated. And it doesn't help that his current hands-off “friendship” is with the cute-as-hell new sideline reporter he's assigned to train. Turns out, not only is the woman damn sweet, she also knows as much about football as he does. Like it or not though, Jackson has to remind himself that sex is the only thing he has to offer . . . until now.

Leila Hart's fast-growing friendship with Jackson is something she'd never risk, no matter how unbelievably seductive the reward. Becoming an NFL sportscaster has always been the goal, and thanks to Jackson's fierce support and mentoring, it all finally seems within reach. Problem is, a girl can only take so much of that sexy-as-sin voice whispering dirty, filthy football stats in her ear before she loses all self-control. A workplace romance with Jackson is a disaster waiting to happen, especially for someone with big dreams . . . and secrets of her own.

Progress: I am only a little more than a 1/4 of a way in and I am LOVING it! The chemistry between Jackson and Leila is steaming from the very first moment.

Favorite quote thus far:
"Guys, I'm a woman. I guarantee that if Girdiron Locks and Picks Weekly had been run by Leila Jane Hart instead of L.J. Hart, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now because the site would've died within months of launch. And not only that, but my gender would've turned the entire thing into a circus act. I would've made news. Not for things I didn't work for- like simply being born without a penis."

Sugar Daddy-Sawyer Bennett

Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend's world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.

The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who's done every dirty thing imaginable, there's something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it's not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she's hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.

Synopsis

Once Rose Fisher makes a decision, that’s it. End of story.

Like when her ex, Patrick, dumped her out of the blue, then showed up with a super hot, tatted up sex kitten on his arm. Then it was over for good. The end. Poof. Dead to her. Except he was everywhere — down the hall, at the bar with their friends, worming his way into her dreams.

But with their friends paired off, they’re left alone more and more. Rose is determined to keep him friendzoned — doesn’t matter that he stares at her with a smolder that drops all panties in a ten foot radius. She’s over him, and she’ll prove it by getting back into the dating game, Patrick be damned.

Patrick Evans is no stranger to consequences. When your mother walks out, your dad drifts away. When you leave home, you’re on your own. And when you run away from the girl you love, you lose her. He finally has an opportunity to rebuild the bridge he burned, and it’s not one he’ll take for granted. But he’ll have to fight for her, even if it hurts. Even if it means he’ll walk away brokenhearted. Because deep down, he knows that she’s it for him.

The trick will be to get her to admit she feels it too.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom; she has three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife; even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

I thought I’d left Blackwater, Texas behind for good. I didn’t belong in the small town, but my dad wouldn’t listen. He dragged me back home in his beat-up truck and dropped a bomb along the way: Chase Matthews was moving in with us. He was the golden boy of my high school, my former best friend, and the last person I wanted sleeping across the hall. His presence was too great a reminder of the ghosts I was trying to forget.

I didn’t ask for a hero. I don’t want to be saved.

To me, Lilah Calloway meant late nights sneakin’ out, moonlit hair, and sparklers in July. She was my best friend until the day she left and I’d assumed Blackwater had seen the last of her. Then, like a tempest, she rolled back into town for the final half of senior year. The chopped hair and dark devil-may-care attitude warned most people away, but I knew if I fought hard enough, I could find the lost girl.

I didn’t want to be her hero. Some girls don’t need to be saved.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
